The Batley

Chris was incredibly nice and helpful! He was willing to communicate with us by writing notes because we are deaf. The application process went smoothly through email exchanges. However on the day we moved in, it wasn’t what we expected; the unit was flipped but smaller than the actual size. We spoke with him to request a different unit that met our expectations and needs and he was accommodating enough to make the change on the same day. We truly appreciate how he met our accommodation needs.

We have had an amazing experience so far living at the Batley and a large part of this is thanks to Chris in the leasing office. From the first day of expressing interest in the Batley he has been easy to communicate with, understanding, and informative. Even now, after a couple months of residency, he continues to go above and beyond to make sure we are happy and that all of our needs are being met. If you are considering living here, I would definitely suggest reaching out to Chris!

We just recently moved in to the Batley and already love this building. Chris, our leasing agent, is so amazing and left a lasting impression on us. Chris had a lot to do with our decision in choosing the Batley. The other leasing staff, Lisa and Alana, have also been SO kind and helpful since we got here. We toured many other buildings but the Batley outshined them. The amenities are nice, and the building is kept very clean. The building is also very pet friendly. There is a large grass area right behind the building for easy walks, ball throwing, or playing with other dogs. So far, we have loved living here and are already recommending it to our friends!

Overall, I'm happy. The area is great--lots of restaurants and coffee shops; can't beat having a trader joe's one block away. The amenities/facilities are also great so far, though I haven't used them much yet. And so far I am very happy with the noise levels, haven't heard much of anything. Better price than more buildings in the area. My biggest complaints are with apartment design. I wasn't able to tour my unit before renting because it was full, and I did not know until moving in that the apartment gets very little natural light. There is a single, big window for the whole apartment, but the light is blocked because it faces other apartments (and yes, they can see into the unit). The apartment is pretty dark and I'm definitely worried about what it will be like in winter. There's no overhead lighting in the living room area (only the kitchen section) so lighting does not compensate. I'm having to invest in a lot of lamps. Meanwhile the lighting in the bedroom feels fluorescent and gives possible headaches. BUT the bedroom can be made VERY dark at night, which I love. I sleep great; it's waking up without light that's the problem. Also, this is a minor complaint but part of the bathroom design makes no sense. There is a towel rack right next to the shower, but because of the direction the shower door swings, there is absolutely no way to reach your towel on the rack as you get out of the shower, forcing me to hang the towel over the shower door every time I shower instead. Hingeing the door the other way would have fixed this easily...
